Help Bring Team Karate Center to Life in Colorado!

My target opening date for TKC of Colorado is early September!
And with your help, this can be done with the quality, community support, and inclusive infrastructure Colorado deserves.
Hi, I’m Jared. Martial arts has shaped my life for the past 43 years. My journey started at age 7 under my mentor Fariborz Azhakh at Team Karate Centers in Los Angeles, where I was given the opportunity to begin teaching classes at age 10. Eventually I began leading programs for all ages and abilities, including preschoolers, adults, and students with disabilities. I have seen firsthand how training in the martial arts builds confidence, character, and lifelong resilience.
I relocated to Colorado with my family to be closer to my children and grandchildren. And now I am on a mission to open my own school, Team Karate Center of Colorado. This will be a martial arts studio rooted in inclusion, personal growth, and community strength. This isn’t just about kicking and punching; it’s about helping kids find their voices, giving adults tools to overcome personal barriers, and creating a safe, empowering space where people grow stronger together.
Our goal is to bring Team Karate Center to life in Colorado this September! We are doing everything in our power to make this a reality. The more support we receive, the more thoughtfully and fully we can build something that matches the scale and spirit this Colorado community deserves.
By raising $55,000 we will be able to elevate this vision from a bootstrapped buildout to a high-quality, welcoming, sustainable community dojo. Every dollar raised helps us move closer to that ideal version of the dojo.
- Goal 1: The first $5,000 will help cover opening expenses – these include initial rent, insurance, and licensing to open the doors.
- Goal 2: The next $10,000 will be for flooring, mats and installation in our new school’s safe and inclusive training space.
- Goal 3: The next $10,000 will help cover equipment, including bags, targets, dummies, and kid-safe training gear.
- Goal 4: The next $10,000 will help cover furniture, reception, and facility improvements to create a clean, professional, and community-oriented space.
- Goal 5: The final $15,000 will help cover community programs, scholarships, local outreach, and ongoing support to ensure long-term accessibility and sustainability.
Team Karate Center of Colorado will be more than just a place to train—it will be a place to grow. We’ll host inclusive events, empower students of all abilities, and contribute to the social and emotional strength of the neighborhoods we serve.
If you believe in the power of confidence, community, and personal development, please consider supporting us. If you can't contribute financially, simply sharing our campaign makes a huge difference.
Thank you for helping us make this vision a reality. We can't wait to share our progress and the achievements of our students with you!
With heartfelt appreciation,
Jared Gordon
