Please help bring Tatiana home!

.Please help us bring Tatiana home to Rappahannock to rest in the garden she dreamed of!
Olga Tatiana Ribeiro Aguia was born in HCA Hospital in Rio de Janeiro on February 8, 1988.  In a nightmarish twist of fate, this young woman with such a bright and promising future passed away due to the horrendous side effects of Covid at the same hospital on February 18, 2021. Diagnosed with Covid on January 15, 2021, her illness put her in the hospital on January 24th, she was intubated on January 27th and left us on February 18th. She left behind a myriad of family members and friends in both Brazil, and here in the USA.  She was the only child of my sister-in-law, Adelinha Cowan, who is married to my brother, William (Liam) Cowan, who Tatiana playfully referred to as "Dad #2.
Adelinha moved to the USA in 2012 to be with her husband Liam.  Tatiana tried 3 times to get a tourist visa to visit and was denied 3 times.  Adelinha and Liam saw the only way to realize Tatiana's dream of the USA was to apply for a Permanent Residency, which they did in 2014.  The wait time was 3 years.  After 3 years, she was told the wait time was 5 years.  After 5 years she was told the wait was 7 years.  In March of 2020, at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic, Tatiana's visa was approved and moved to the State Department, where it was put on hold because of the pandemic.  In October of 2020, all of Tatiana's paperwork was approved and the only thing preventing her from realizing her dream was a final interview at which her immigration visa would be granted!  My brother, Liam, bought a small farm  (fixer-upper) in Rappahannock Co, Va. for himself,  Adelinha, and Tatiana to realize all of their dreams of finally being together here in the USA.  Liam and Adelinha have worked endlessly to get the house ready for Tatiana's arrival as the pandemic raged through Brazil.
Tatiana's dream, as a young teenager, was to make her home in the USA.  Her love for our culture shaped her life.  She became fluent in the English language as a young girl and immersed herself in American literature, music, television, and the arts.  She was so enamored by the "Harry Potter" series of books she actually changed the ending of one which came to print!  The following is an excerpt of an email I received from Adelinha when I asked her for some more personal info about Tatiana:
"Tatiana had multiple talents and spirits to invent stories. She loved Harry Potter and Sirius Black in the Order of the Phoenix.
She was not satisfied with the way the author killed him in the story, so she wrote a FAN-FIC (fanfiction), accepted by J.K.Rowling and posted in the author's last book. Tatiana was a member of FANDOM, “Expresso Hogwarts” who use canons (events that have already occurred in the series) and Rowling pays attention to these fan works. When in 2017 the author of the series of books and films launched her last book, my daughter called me and asked me to buy the book and save it for her to read in English when she arrives here.
So I and Liam went to Barnes & Noble's to buy that book for her... She never will read it...
Tatiana studied International Relations at the University Estácio de Sá, UNESA, in Rio de Janeiro.  Years later, she started to make another University degree in the area of Human Resources Management, also at UNESA, because she wanted to combine these two studies to anchor her career in international events.  Ironically, she could not imagine that the COVID Pandemic would change family, friend, and business relationships, transforming social media platforms and private messengers like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Zoom, Teams,
WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, even podcasts in new forms of Networks.
She came to believe strongly that until the effective cure or vaccine against this disease was discovered, life after Covid-19 would be more focused on social detachment and that Artificial Intelligence would be the driving force of the new era.  Therefore, she was preparing to come and live here in the USA and be part of this new field. This was the area where she stood out in the Fandoms since she was 13 years old. The fact that she was a geek, combining a teenage hobby with higher education, made her an influencer respected by thousands of people, using her spare time to create a happy little world for her and fans of what she loved to do. She  also always tried to keep a full job because, in the Brazil of constant economic crises, many people always have to keep a bird in the hand..."
"In November, the Consulate was going to open, she was going to take the completed case AND BE ABLE TO TRAVEL HERE...But the interview was once again canceled because travel from Brazil was banned because Covid-19 over there was chaos.
Now the only way for my daughter to come to the country that she most dreamed of was in the form of ashes.
She kept a map highlighted in her bedroom and always pointed and said, I'm going to live there one day ...
There was so little left to do for her to come home, my God ..."

After reading all of Tatiana's accomplishments, I realize that I almost need to write a book to tell you all what a bright and shining star she was!  My brother, Liam named a star in the constellation of Pheonix in Tatiana's name...

Tatiana stayed home in her home in Rio for seven months and avoided any trips outside to keep herself healthy for her impending arrival here in the US.  Her employer had closed his business at the beginning of the pandemic and then reopened his business in November 2020, needing Tatiana to resume her job.  She reported back to work as requested.  Tatiana spoke of her fears to her mother. Every day was a horror since her employer took absolutely no precautions to protect his employees from daily contact with clients. He thought it unnecessary. He then contracted the virus from a customer. He knew  he was sick, but insisted on going back to work, ultimately infecting Tatiana and every one of his  employees!  Adelinha listened in horror, unable to go to Brazil to be at her daughter's side.
We all thought that perhaps Tatiana would awaken from the coma by her 33rd birthday on February 8, but she passed away on February 18. In Brazil, a person who dies of Covid must be buried or cremated within 24 hours.  Mass graves are common.  It was a blessing that Tatiana's birth father, Marcello, was able to see that her remains were dealt with in an honest fashion...

I ask you all to consider helping us raise the money for the costs of travel for Tatiana's father from Brazil to escort her ashes home to her mother here in the US and to also assist in creating the memorial garden on the farm she dreamed of coming to!
We will honor a loving and bright star whose light faded here on earth way too soon!!!
