Help bring Talos home - from Crete to the UK
Donation protected
On our last day in Chania, Crete, we came across a tiny kitten on the street. His eyes were completely crusted over—he couldn’t see a thing. He was starving, alone, and in desperate need of help.
I ran to the nearest supermarket, grabbed food and water, and sat with him in a shaded alley as I gently cleaned his eyes and tried to comfort him. He purred, he rubbed up against me—despite everything, he was full of love. My heart broke
We were due to leave in less than 30 minutes. I didn’t know what to do. As we walked away, he followed me into the street, meowing after me. I picked him up, carried him to a small shaded area with food and water, and promised I’d find someone to help him.
That night, I posted everywhere I could, messaged every contact, and prayed someone would go find him.
And then came Lida—a kind and selfless woman who runs a local rescue, already full to the brim with animals in need. Despite her packed schedule, she went out every single day to look for this kitten. And six days later… he was found. ❤️
We named him Talos, after the mythological protector of Crete. He’s very poorly right now—thin, weak, and recovering from a severe eye infection. But he’s safe. And once he’s strong enough, he’ll be coming to the UK to live with us and have the life he truly deserves.

Why We’re Asking for Help
Vet care, medication, vaccinations, transport, and passport fees are costly—and as much as I’ve saved up to cover what I can, I simply can’t do it alone. Every single donation, no matter how small, will go directly to:
Talos’s veterinary care and medication
Transport and travel costs to bring him to the UK
Boarding and care while he recovers
Any extra funds will go straight to Lida’s rescue, to support the incredible work she does saving animals like Talos every single day

Talos Deserves His Happy Ending
In a world that can sometimes feel so heavy, Talos’s story reminds me that there is still so much good. Kindness, compassion, and the quiet heroes—like Lida—are what truly make a difference.
If you can donate even £1, it would mean the world. If you can't donate, please consider sharing Talos’s story. The more people it reaches, the better his chance—and the more animals we can help together.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, sharing, and caring.
