Help Me Take Takoda and Winston to Awesome Con '24

Hello and thank you for stopping by my fundraiser!

I'm Anna, a lifelong anime enthusiast and self-taught artist. This year, I've been given the incredible opportunity to showcase my creations in Artist Alley at Awesome Con 2024 Washington, DC (March 8 - 10 | www.awesome-con.com), a moment I've dreamed of for years but also a step forward in bringing more diverse stories to the anime world.

Why I Need Your Support

Participating in Awesome Con is a significant milestone, but it comes with its share of costs. I need to raise $3950.00, which will cover:

Artwork Reproduction: High-quality prints of my original works, including posters, stickers, shirts, etc.,

Hiring an illustrator: Design several images of Takoda and Winston in various scenes to be used for merchandise as well as signage.

Merchandise Production: Creation of unique items (stickers, shirts, posters, educational cards) featuring my characters, Takoda and Winston.

Takoda and Winston © aren't just characters; they're a part of me. They represent my personal journey through accepting my emotions and exploring the world of plant medicine. Their stories, which I'll be debuting at Awesome Con, are close to my heart and I believe they will resonate with many.

These character renderings were created by creative director, Chris Owens (https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-owens-64314345/), who I plan to hire again to assist with this project. He helped me bring Takoda and Winston to life for my Dandy Delights product card:

Why This Matters

The anime industry, while beloved, has often lacked diversity, particularly in its representation of black female creators and characters. By being at Awesome Con 2024, I'm not just showcasing my art; I'm representing a voice often unheard in this space. My presence and the stories of Takoda and Winston aim to resonate with and inspire others who seek representation in the anime world.

Original Artwork Reproduction: $1200

Illustrator: $2,000

Takoda & Winston Merchandise Production: $750
