Hi, I’m Zuzu — a Wicklow-based writer, actor, and first-time filmmaker.
I’m creating Take.7, a short proof-of-concept film set in the circus world. It’s the story of Ary, a grieving neurodivergent singer, and Charlie, an older aerialist, whose lives collide in a charged week of intimacy, grief, and connection. It’s about what happens when two people who are both raw and flawed meet in a space that’s chaotic, magical, and alive.
Why this project?
It’s a deeply personal story — drawn from lived experience of grief and navigating love while neurodivergent.
It will showcase incredible local Wicklow and Irish talent — from circus performers to musicians to community theatre artists.
It’s designed as a proof-of-concept to lead to a feature film, but it also stands alone as a moving, atmospheric short.
Why crowdfunding?
Filmmaking is expensive, and as an independent artist I’m funding much of this out of my own pocket. Support from you will directly cover:
Safe rehearsal and filming spaces (including circus rigging and fire performance safety)
Crew and performer costs (paying people fairly for their time)
Equipment hire and insurance
Post-production (editing, sound, colour grading)
Every euro helps. Even €10–20 makes a difference — and if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign is just as valuable.
With your support, Take.7 can become a living, breathing film that shows how grief and connection can transform us.
Thank you for helping me set the first domino in motion.
— Zuzu
