Dear Family and friends,

With heavy hearts, we come to you in a time of great sorrow to share the devastating news of the untimely passing of our beloved Sahmut. A vibrant young man of 34 years of age with his whole life before him.

Tragically, Sahmut's journey took an unforeseen turn on the 23 November when he went to hospital with a tonsil infection. The series of procedures which followed, left Sahmut without oxygen to his brain for a prolonged period of time leading to permanent brain damage. This heartbreaking incident has left us with profound heartache, confusion and sadness and we must now say our goodbyes.

Sahmut was a young man full of life, a kind loving person who cherished his time with his family and friends. He treasured moments spent with those he held dear and had an unwavering passion for music that he loved to play. Sahmut is loved by his Mother, Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunties, Uncles and Friends. His sudden departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled.

During this challenging time, we are dealing with both the emotional and unexpected financial challenges of laying Sahmut to rest. Our family would like to reach out to others to seek support to bring Sahmut back to his hometown of Darwin for his final resting place at Thorak Cemetery.
