We are heartbroken to share with you the sudden passing of Steve Monette. While vacationing in the Caribbean with his daughter, Jessica Monette, his son-in-law, Alec Todd, and his beloved grandchildren Rowan and Iona, Steve passed away suddenly and tragically while on an excursion.

Not only is his family now mourning the sudden loss of an incredible father and grandfather, but they are having to navigate the financial and legislative hardships of bringing Steve back to Canada. Before even considering the Celebration of Life and burial that he deserves, the costs have already surmounted $15,000.

Steve was a character, with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He lived and laughed loudly and anyone who knew Steve, knew he was the kindest, most positive man. A man so full of love, one of his greatest qualities was that he would never shy away from showing you just how much he cared for you. Now it is time for us to show just how much we care for him too.

While difficult to ask, Steve's family is reaching out to those who knew, loved, and were loved by Steve to help bring him home. No amount is too small; every little bit makes a meaningful difference and helps get them closer to their goal. If you are not in a position to donate, please share the fundraiser widely.
