My name is Dr. Kameron J. King — Environmental Scientist, Engineer, and founder of BlackGirlScientist, LLC. I created STEM Girls™ because I know firsthand what
it means to be a girl who loves science but rarely sees herself represented in it.
I built the page I wish I had growing up. Now I’m building the doll.
What is STEM Girls™?
STEM Girls™ is an inclusive line of collectible dolls paired with real hands-on STEM experiment kits — designed to show every girl that science is for her.
Our debut doll, Dr. Khemi the Chemist™, comes with the Organic Lava Lip Gloss STEM Kit — a safe, engaging experiment that teaches real chemistry concepts like solubility, emulsions, and organic compounds. Designed for ages 6 and up. Created by a real scientist. Built for the next generation.
Why This Matters
Research shows girls’ confidence in STEM begins declining as early as age 8. Walk down any toy aisle and you’ll see why — limited diversity, STEM toys marketed primarily to boys, and very little that bridges imagination with real science.
Every child deserves to see themselves belonging in STEM — if they want to. STEM Girls™ exists to make sure they do.
Our Journey
We launched STEM Girls™ on Kickstarter and the response was overwhelming. In just 60 days we attracted over 45+ supporters and raised nearly $6,500 — proof that the demand for Dr. Khemi is real and the community is ready.
The community showed up. The demand was real. And we are more determined than ever to bring Dr. Khemi to life. Unfortunately, we did not meet our 15K goal on Kickstarter. We are now continuing our fundraising journey here on GoFundMe — and unlike Kickstarter, every dollar you give here is kept and goes directly toward production. No all-or-nothing. Just progress.

Production Timeline
Once we reach our funding goal we will move immediately into production. Here is our estimated roadmap — we are building in flexibility to ensure Dr. Khemi arrives in the highest quality possible.
- Funding secured → Mold tooling and sample development begins
- 3-6 months post funding → Final production and safety testing
- 6-9 months post funding → Freight shipping and fulfillment preparation
- Estimated Delivery → Based on funds raised. The more we raise the faster we can move. Every dollar gets Dr. Khemi closer to your door.
