Standoffish is a deeply personal story, drawn from the lived experiences of our lovely directors, Peyton Hoffman and Keili Carriere, as well as those closest to them.
Logline: Two estranged and standoffish siblings are forced to reconcile when they must take care of their elderly Abuelo for the holiday season.
A message from the writers/directors!--
"This film explores the biracial experience I have lived in, struggling with Spanglish and not feeling Mexican enough. Abuelo is also based on my own Abuelo! Jack and Zoey represent very important parts of me, and I have so much love for this script :)"
-Peyton Hoffman
"The experience of having siblings is such a unique and personal thing. What I put into this film is years of knowing what it is like to have a younger sister who, even though she gets on my nerves, is someone I love deeply. Dysfunctional sibling relationships (we all have them!) are something near and dear to my heart, and I wanted to share that with everyone in a funky little warm color palette movie!"

This fundraiser will support us in getting equipment and other necessities to help produce this film, which is so very close to our hearts. Anything you can contribute means so much to us!
Gracias :)
