*Publishing on the Apple App Store requires an Apple computer and a developer fee—costs I can’t afford right now. All of funds going for that. I plan to buy a refurbished Macbook air with M1 chip. Old one.*
The Android version is publishing - right now.
I can't morally gatekeep people need help. But Apple can. The app is free, no ads.
My name is Michael, and eight years ago, I lost my speech completely after a stroke. For three years, I could only say two words. It was a long, difficult journey, but with the help of an amazing speech program and a lot of hard work, I slowly regained my ability to talk.
Now, I want to give back and help others who are facing the same challenges I did.
Simple has no ads, FREE, no account, and works fully offline. Privacy and focus and therapy-driven.
For the past 18 months, I’ve been building Simple—a calm, offline speech practice app designed for stroke recovery, speech therapy, ESL learners, and anyone relearning pronunciation. You can practice real words, break them into sounds, and tap sound buttons to see mouth placement diagrams.
I built thousands of phonemes and words, with mouth and tongue placements, and examples for tricky sounds like “er” in “bird.” The app lets you listen, slow down audio playback, and even practice saying words out loud. Caregivers can listen and help, and the app can hear and recognize which word you said—even if you get it wrong sometimes, like I do.
I want to make Simple available to everyone who needs it, especially on iPhone and iPad. But publishing on the Apple App Store requires an Apple computer and a developer fee—costs I can’t afford right now. Your support will help me cover these expenses and bring Simple to more people who need help finding their voice. Thank you for believing in this project and helping others on their journey to recovery.
