Dear Community Member,
If you don't know me or what I do, my name is Brian Harris, and I’m a middle school teacher. I was awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2022-23 school year. I was instrumental in starting a program for kids that have not been successful in the typical school system, and we were honored as a Model Community Day School last year.
My students don’t love school and have all been sent to me as a result of struggling to fit in and negative behavior. These kids have so much potential though. They need a different approach to the school system and I’m providing just that. They need hands-on learning and real life skills to help them develop a sense of passion and purpose. I’ve built go carts, bicycles, wood skate ramps, model engines, a water balloon launcher, skateboards, and anything I can think of and see to fruition. We build real life skills through cooking, balancing checkbooks, using the Cricut machine to make stickers and hats, waiting on tables, fishing and hiking. In addition, we’ve bought them dress clothes and brought them to restaurants to experience what fine dining looks like.
Now, my goal is to bring shop class back to public school and build a small block Chevy engine in the classroom. I have a motor and machine work donated already. I’m asking for donations to my school which will allow me to buy the necessary parts to ignite a passion for motor sports in my students.
Revolutions and changing kids’ lives starts at the bottom and I’m committed to making the changes we all know need to happen. When this goes well, I know others will follow. I don’t ask for much, but I am asking for support on this one - I can’t do it alone. Thank you so much for reading this and donating if you can, and please feel free to contact me with any questions.
If you prefer, tax deductible donations can be made directly to:
