Our family is going through a nightmare right now, and we are asking for help to bring our loved one, Shontaneece Brooks, home. What was supposed to be a fun cruise vacation turned into a devastating tragedy. While on a cruise stop in Honduras, Shontaneece went on a four-wheeler excursion and was involved in a horrific accident that caused severe injuries to her face and body. Her injuries are heartbreaking—her face was badly damaged, parts of it were split open, and she lost all of her teeth in the accident. She is in extreme pain and will require multiple reconstructive surgeries once she is able to return home to the United States.

To make matters worse, the situation has become even more frightening. The cruise ship left Shontaneece and her mother behind in Honduras, and the hospital is refusing to continue treatment unless more money is paid upfront. So far, our family has already paid thousands out of pocket just for emergency care, but the hospital is still demanding additional payment. Right now, Shontaneece is stuck in a hospital bed in another country, suffering and waiting for help.

Our immediate goal is to raise enough money to pay the hospital so she can continue receiving care, cover the cost of flights home for her and her mother, and begin the long process of medical treatment and reconstructive surgeries once she is back in the U.S. The journey ahead will also include ongoing medical bills and living expenses, as Shontaneece will not be able to return to work for some time.

No one ever expects something like this to happen on a vacation. Our family is doing everything we can, but we cannot do it alone.
