You Brought Her Home! Now, Let's Get Her a Headstone!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of our sweet Shevell, who was found deceased in a tent in Chicago yesterday morning. We had been trying for some time to reconnect with her and bring her back to Utah, hoping and praying she could find her way to safety. Sadly, her journey in this world has come to an end. We find comfort in knowing that she is now embraced by her Father in Heaven, reunited with her grandparents and loved ones who have gone before her.
Shevell’s life was marked by challenges. She entered DCFS custody around the age of 14 and experienced placements in group homes, with relatives, and in foster care. She eventually made her way to Salt Lake City, where we continued to reach out, pleading and praying for her return. Tragically, she was trafficked to Chicago, and our communications with her became sporadic and uncertain. Her aunt posted missing signs in Chicago and all over the internet, hoping for any news. When someone finally responded, it was too late.
Shevell was a kind and tender soul whose light touched many lives. Her loss is deeply felt by her family and loved ones, who are mourning the beautiful person she was. As we come together to honor her memory, we are seeking support to help ease the financial burden of bringing her body home to Utah and providing her with a proper funeral.
If you are able to contribute, no matter the amount, it would mean so much to her family during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and prayers as we remember Shevell and celebrate her life.
