Shawn PD West Jr. was my 22-year-old son, and he was taken from us far too soon. He was having a mental health crisis and called 911 for help, but instead of receiving the care he needed, he was shot and killed by police in Sampson County. Shawn had just finished school and was looking forward to his future, but he never got the chance to live the life he deserved.

Our family is devastated by this tragedy. We want to bring Shawn home to Cabarrus County, where his loved ones can say goodbye and honor his memory.
