My name is Sithara, and it is with a broken heart that I share the devastating loss of my beloved husband, Sarath Mohandas, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Augustine Heights, Queensland, on 19 July 2026.

Sarath was my best friend, the loving father of our two young children (aged 10 and 4), and the sole breadwinner of our family. He worked tirelessly to build a better future for us. Just two months ago, our children and I left our home in Kerala, India, to join Sarath in Australia. I resigned from my secure Government job so that we could finally live together as a family. We moved into a rental home in Augustine Heights, filled with dreams of starting a new life. Instead, our world has been shattered beyond words.

In an instant, my children lost their loving father, and I lost my life partner. Along with the unbearable grief, we are now facing the overwhelming financial burden of arranging Sarath's funeral, repatriating him to Kerala, India, so he can be laid to rest surrounded by his family, and returning to our hometown of Thrissur, Kerala, where our family can support us through this unimaginable tragedy. Every donation, no matter how small, will help cover funeral expenses, repatriation costs, travel home for my children and me, and our immediate living expenses as we begin to rebuild our lives.

No words can express the pain of losing Sarath, and no amount of money can replace him. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your prayers, compassion and generosity during the darkest time of our lives and allowing us to focus on honouring his memory and caring for our children.
