Help Bring Ruslan Back Home and Save His Life
Dear friends,
We are reaching out with a heartfelt plea for support for Ruslan Golovachuk, a 41-year-old truck driver from Boca Raton, Florida.
On October 26, while delivering a load in Akron, Ohio, Ruslan suffered a massive stroke with severe brain hemorrhaging. He fell into a coma and was placed on life support. Doctors told his family he might not survive. But Ruslan is a fighter, and against all odds, he pulled through.
However, the stroke has left Ruslan paralyzed, and his journey to recovery will be long and challenging. He urgently needs medical transport to return home to Boca Raton, Florida, where he can continue rehabilitation surrounded by his family. The cost of transport is $28,322, and each day in the Ohio hospital costs the family $2,000.
From the moment the stroke happened, his wife, Marina, flew from Florida to Ohio overnight to be by his side. Since then, she has been with him 24/7, providing unwavering support and advocating for his care. Despite many challenges, including instances of medical negligence, she has fought tirelessly for her husband’s life and well-being.
At home, their 12-year-old son, Yegor, waits for his father, cared for by Marina’s mother. The family has endured unimaginable hardships over the past 1.5 months but remains hopeful and believes in the power of a Christmas miracle.

A message from Ruslan’s friends and loved ones
Dear friends,
We are reaching out to you with hope in our hearts and deep faith in the power of compassion.
Our dear friend Ruslan has suffered a devastating stroke with a brain hemorrhage. The situation was critical. But despite the odds, he survived — and he’s fighting.
His wife, Maryna, has shown extraordinary strength. She has carried the weight of everything: countless medical decisions, negotiations with hospitals, searching for rehab centers, managing insurance, coordinating transport, facing both hope and heartbreak.
They were prepared to move him to Florida more than 7 times, but each attempt fell through — due to medical errors, red tape, or logistical failures.
In March, a misprescribed medication sent Ruslan into the ICU, costing them the spot at a much-needed rehab center they were ready to transfer to.
⸻
Now there’s hope.
Ruslan’s condition has stabilized, and he is making slow but real progress. Despite his brain injury and the heavy medications that partially suppress movement, he feels his body, he understands everything, and he wants to live.
It’s a miracle.
He is on a long road to recovery — but he is walking it.
They are currently in negotiations with a rehab center in another part of Florida, meaning another move is ahead.
On top of that, $7,500/month is needed just for housing — until SSI payments (still in process) begin.
This amount is enormous, especially after all that’s already been spent on medical care, housing, transport, and daily needs.
⸻
We’re asking for your help.
Anyone who knows Ruslan knows how kind, generous, and full of light he is.
Now, he needs us.
Any contribution — no matter the size — helps bring him one step closer to healing.
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this message is already a big help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you for being with us.
With love,
Ruslan and Maryna’s friends and supporters
