As some of you know Piper hasn’t been doing very well lately.
She’s been in and out of the hospital again and her seizures have been getting worse and I’m struggling to hold it together with no family near by while taking care of Piper and Oli.
I had a plan to take the girls to Canada this summer, to be near my family and old friends but those plans are cancelled and honestly, I still need my mom. In order for her to come and help me I have to be able to cover all of her bills.
I’m trying to bring her here to help us through, what is turning out to be a very hard time for us. I’m embarrassed to even ask for help but I’m desperate.
Please give if you can and share if you can. And please send your prayers and positive energy our way, especially to Piper. Let this just be something we have to go through together. Something that can make us stronger.
I’m also raising some funds to hire someone to walk our dog regularly and for boarding for him while we’re in and out of the hospital. We also have cats and guinea pigs that we need to pay someone to help us with.
A little bit about what’s happening with Piper: About ten or so days ago on the 14 Piper started having suspicious episodes that I instantly knew were seizures. Instead of occasionally they were happening constantly. Her epilepsy neurologist wasn’t super worried so I tried to follow her advice but eventually had to follow my gut so I gave her rescue medication and took her to the ER where they sent us home . That was Sunday. She had a couple of slightly better days but then on Wednesday the episodes were all linking up into one again so I took her to the ER locally and they transferred her to Sacramento where they did an emergent EEG and confirmed that the episodes are in fact seizures. Which means she had been having seizures constantly for days. Not good. She was given a hefty dose of Ativan and phenobarbital and now we’re on a journey that is very much more complicated than it was two weeks ago. Every day is a blessing and a challenge. And I appreciate all the help I can get even a hug and a visit to our house for my morale is priceless.
