It is with profound sadness that we share that Rolly Mallillin has suffered a devastating medical emergency and is not expected to recover.
Rolly Mallillin was a devoted father, partner, and friend who touched the lives of many. He was a hardworking man, serving many as a concierge. Rolly was highly dedicated—he would arrive at work hours early, no matter the rain or snow, always keeping a smile on his face and taking pride in helping people feel welcomed and supported. His warmth, generosity, and love for his family were evident to everyone who knew him.
On February 19, 2026, Rolly was admitted to Queens Hospital after a sudden bout of abdominal pain. What was meant to be a routine endoscopy turned tragic when he suffered cardiac arrest during the procedure. Despite the medical team’s efforts, Rolly was unresponsive for a significant amount of time, resulting in severe brain damage and ultimately, brain death. This loss has left our family heartbroken and facing unexpected challenges.
We are reaching out to our community for support as we honor Rolly’s wishes to return to the Philippines. The funds raised will help cover the costs of transferring him home, funeral expenses, and provide much-needed support for his partner and 7-year-old child in the Philippines, who is now left without support. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us give Rolly the farewell he deserves and support his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
