I’m Joseph Ornelas the brother of the deceased Rodrigo Jr. Ornelas. I’m fundraising to help me and my mom, (Olga Ornelas), raise funds to help us transport Rodrigo’s body from Folsom, Louisiana to Edinburg, Texas and make proper funeral here for our family. He will be buried if possible with our father, Roberto Ornelas, who is also recently deceased. We are also seeking help in this GoFundMe for legal justice against the unknown driver.

Rodrigo Jr. Ornelas(24 years old) passed away in hospital after a hit-and-run that is still under investigation. Before his death, he was in critical condition. In his last moments everyone in our family were in a conference call, hoping he could hear us and survive with our support, love and crys for strength. We were then given news he passed away. He was loved by all his family and friends even when there was issues. Me and my mom are deeply saddened and hurt with Rodrigo’s passing especially when we haven’t even processed my father’s passing. With the recent passing of our father, Roberto Carlos Ornelas, it is impossible to fund everything on our own without making great sacrifices we can’t financially afford. Although we are currently working with a law firm, it is under a “You win you pay nothing, you loose you pay us” kind of contract. We are working with a funeral director to see our options to get Rodrigo to Texas and do a proper funeral. I personally never thought both my father and brother would die so young. I’m barely 21, and i’ll never again be able to hear my father call me “mijo” or Rodrigo call me “cuhh” or “brother”. To those reading this please cherish your close family, those you spend or spent so many years saying good morning or goodnight to, because one day you might never be able to hear them again say it back.
