Help Bring my dad home

I am so overwhelmed by the love and support that has already been shown during this difficult time. As I navigate my dad’s passing, I am facing unexpected expenses, including possible legal costs to obtain his property, and I am unable to cover his cremation at this time. The cremation service requires payment up front before I can receive his remains. Please help me bring him home. Your support would mean the world to me during this difficult time.

Obituary for Richard Dale Dutterer

Richard Dale Dutterer, 64, of Alamosa, Colorado, passed away on January 20, 2026. He was born on August 22, 1961, in San Diego, California, to Betty Dutterer and Carroll Dutterer.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Amy Dutterer, who passed on January 22, 2018. Their love and shared dreams remained a defining part of his life.

He is survived by his two children, Shelby Favors and Shane Dutterer, who were the pride of his life.

Richard was a very hardworking man who did whatever he could to provide for his family. Throughout the years, he worked various jobs in construction and other hands-on trades, taking deep pride in every project he completed. He was a man who built things with his hands and lived his life with grit, determination, and heart.

A true free spirit, Richard played by his own rules and lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and unforgettable stories. Anyone who met him could tell you at least one “Oh, Rick” moment — a memory filled with humor, disbelief, and a smile that lingered long after the story was told. His life was truly TV-show worthy, full of twists, bold choices, and larger-than-life moments.

Richard was also a gambler at heart and took special pride in being one of the top contenders in online Euchre, a game he loved and approached with his signature competitive spirit.

In his final years, he lived out one of his greatest dreams — owning property and building his own home near Blanca Mountain with his wife before her passing. That place represented freedom, resilience, and the independent life he cherished so deeply.

Loyalty meant everything to Richard. He surrounded himself only with people he trusted and cared for, and it made perfect sense that he always had an animal companion by his side. His bond with his pets reflected his deep love for companionship and his gentle, loyal heart beneath his tough exterior.

Richard Dale Dutterer will be remembered for his big personality, his adventurous spirit, his hardworking nature, and the lasting impression he left on everyone who crossed his path.
