Help bring rFlight to NASA Ames!

Donation protected
We are an all-volunteer team building a full-scale Vertical Take-Off & Landing (VTOL) personal flight vehicle - and we need your support to bring the vehicle to showcase at Moffett Federal Airfield at NASA Ames Research Center on February 29!

Who is rFlight?
rFlight is a globally distributed community of innovators and makers. We are an inclusive volunteer community that accepts anyone with a passion to collaborate and learn. We are all united by a vision to create a better world through innovation, and creating a new way of collaborating on complex engineering projects in a distributed manner.

Our project was spurred by a competition from GoFly to design and build a safe, quiet, ultra-compact, near-VTOL personal flying device capable of flying 20 miles while carrying a single person.

The bulk of our work is conducted virtually, using communication platforms like Slack, collaborative CAD software like Fusion360 from Autodesk, and video conferencing from Google Meet. The physical manufacturing, building, and testing of our competition vehicle is taking place outside of Spokane, WA.

What is GoFly?
GoFly is a competition to create a personal flying device that is safe, useful, and thrilling. The goal is to foster the development of safe, quiet, ultra-compact, near-VTOL personal flying devices capable of flying twenty miles while carrying a single person. The rFlight project is our entry, and we have progressed to the final stage of the competition!

Our team has been developing this vehicle for over two years, and we are now less than 1 month away from the final fly-off - but we need your help!

In order to transport our vehicle to showcase at Moffett Federal Airfield at NASA Ames Research Center on February 29 (leap day!), we need support to rent a vehicle to transport the flying device, pay for fuel (from Spokane, WA, to Menlo Park, CA, and back again), and support team members with costs associated with attending the event.

Help support our volunteer team in raising the funds necessary to attend this incredible event and to represent passionate innovators and makers from around the world!
