HELP BRING REX BACK TO GOOD HEALTH!

Donation protected

I am here today asking you all if you can donate as little as $1.00 to help raise much needed funds for my best friend and spirit animal, Rex. Rex is only 6 years old; he was a happy healthy and much-loved dog. Everyone who knows Rex will vouch for this. He is the most beautiful soul I have ever met, period.

I met Rex in the darkest time of my life, and he pulled me completely out of the rut that I was in and turned my whole life around. I literally would not be where I am today without him. He has watched me grow, watched me meet the man of my dreams, watched me have a beautiful daughter, buy a home and has ALWAYS been by my side the whole time. He is the most loyal spirt I have ever met. He is not only my best friend but he is my daughters best friend and protector! He would do anything for her!

Last week I noticed that he was acting a little different and off colour. He was putting distance between us and wanted to be outside and not near us, he was sick and not eating. I took him to the vets and found out he was going blind, and he had arthritis in his right leg – he has now been medicated for this. But something in my heart knew there was more – the vet told me to come back if it persisted.

Today by chance I happened to be doing letter box drops in my street for work – so I came home to get him and take him for a walk with me…. He didn’t bark when I got home (those of you who know him, will know he is a barker!), he didn’t move from the spot he was in. Not to mention he still had a loss of appetite… When I got the lead, he didn’t get up, I thought the exercise might be good for him, so I pushed him to come with me. He did it because he would do anything for me. He slowly started walking down the street with me, but I could tell that something was wrong – then he collapsed. I took him straight to the vets – they are going down every possible avenue. His bloods came back this afternoon and I have been told that he has ‘Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia’.

“Immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) is the condition where the body's immune system attacks and removes its own red blood cells, thus leading to severe anaemia, an unhealthy yellow colouring of the tissues called jaundice or icterus as well as an assortment of life-threatening complications.”

I am absolutely beside myself with shock and completely overwhelmed with sadness. He is my best friend and I cannot lose him. Please if you can donate as little as $1.00 – we would honestly be so appreciative. We have just brought a house 3 weeks ago and I have just spent most of my savings in Brisbane a week ago (both of my grandparents were admitted into the Wesley Hospital), so I went to be there by there side as they both had life threatening illnesses too. Needless to say, this hasn’t been the greatest couple of weeks.

So far the vet bill is at $2000.00 and that is not including ongoing treatment.

Please find it in your heart to help our little family and bring Rex back to our little girl!

Thank you to everyone, truly, THANK YOU for the support!

Kind Regards,
Riley, Jarrod & Nylah
