Hi my daughter , Kaitlynn and I (Faith) are reaching out for Emergency vet help with our Sweet boy REMY! REMY is 8 years old black lab and literally one of the sweetest most love able boy Ever!
On the evening of Wednesday 9/24 around 930 pm I took him and our other puppets out before bed! As I turned to cross the street with leashes in hand, I felt Remys leash drop with no weight on it. I turned to see he had slipped out of his collar and he darted across the street! I quickly was taking my 13 yr old doxie, Remys brother, up to get the car keys. As I was running I heard brakes and then the sound I NEVER wanted to hear was Remys cry’s of pain and I knew as I started screaming to anyone that my boy got hit by a car and HELP ME! I went start my car, which was dead, and in flip flops I ran… I ran so hard in the direction I knew my boy was and praying and trying to prepare myself what I was going to see once I got to him down the street! Still screaming his name , the sweetest gentlemen, who tried so hard to STOP was walking to me saying “he was so sorry”!! I was out of breath and asked “is he alive “? The answer was YES, But injured and not sure where? As I’m still running , I finally see our sweet boy standing in middle of the road. When I called to him, as I seen him try to come to me and I got closer, this was when I realized REMY was seriously injured! I get to REMY and bend down to hold him, thankful he was still here with me, however as I look down, to Remys right front leg, I see bone exposed, and his foot dangling! I was sick and REMY was in shock and pain! As Dave the gentleman was on phone calling ANY vet to help REMY, another 2 men joined to help REMY as they heard his cries as well! These men rushed to get tree limbs and wrap to help get Remys leg secure and stable(I have it pictured)! These 3 men were REMYS ANGELS and I believe this with my whole heart! Dave, the gentlemen whom ACCIDENTALLY hit REMY offered to assist in getting him to wherever he needed to go and when we called the vet, with the extent of Remys injury and after hours fees totaled close to $700!!! I did not have that but I had partial as my daughter Kaitlynn, Remys momma, is in college in Cheyenne and sent her momma $350 out of her savings while Dave kindly offered to cover the other half to get REMY medical care!! Once at the vet in Mountain View Wyoming (Uinta h veterinary clinic) Dr Cinda Powers assessed and took care of our sweet boy!! However the news was a blow of the procedure of amputation of Remys right front leg to his shoulder, as with the bone exposed and break so bad, the infection was already present and to even think of possibly plates and screws etc was a gamble and long process for REMY that would possibly cause more issues for REMY in the end and still looking at it not taking with amputation in the end!!! So with my daughter on the phone, we had to make the hardest decision to have Remys leg amputated Today 9/26 has been day and half after Remys Amputation and He is doing well and he is pretty soar from surgery itself but also the bruising from initial hit in his shoulder! Dr Chad informed me this AM that while REMY is still trying to figure out his new way with 3 legs, that REMY is healing and has gone potty and is trying really hard to hard !
So with this GOFUNDME REQUEST, we are asking and needing assistance to bring REMY , our sweet boy home tonight or tomorrow however remaining sum is around $600 & With my daughter in college , helping with what she could, and myself I do work and have a job going on 3 yrs but dealing with some health issues myself as well as life just keeps kicking us I listed the vets name above and location so if ANYONE either would consider donating to HELP BRING REMY HOME so we can have him with us, loved immensely and Trying to figure out his new way of life and heal WE WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL TO YOU!!! REMY IS THE BEST BOY AND WHILE THIS IS A TOUGH SITUATION, REMY IS ALIVE and we will do whatever we need to do to make Remys transition from 4 legs to 3 and has best care and all love he can stand!!
PLEASE HELP BRING OUR REMY HOME FROM THE VET
