While Ramon lived in Hawaiʻi, his family is based in South Carolina. This fundraiser is organized by members of his Hawaiʻi community to support his family back home.

Ramon Brockington was deeply loved by the communities he was part of, both in Hawaiʻi and in South Carolina. From his roots on the East Coast to the years he spent living in Hawaiʻi, Ramon built real connections through his kindness, his work, and the way he showed up for others. Through his filming and his support of the people around him, Ramon left a lasting impact wherever he was.

Ramon became an important part of the Oʻahu surf community, where he was known for documenting our culture and capturing moments that mattered. At the same time, his family and lifelong community remain in South Carolina, where his story began and where he will be laid to rest. Ramon built real relationships in both places, and his loss has been felt deeply across both communities.

Ramon’s family is currently facing the challenge of coordinating everything from thousands of miles away. His body, personal belongings, and vehicle remain on Oʻahu, while his family is in South Carolina. This fundraiser exists to help bridge that distance and cover the immediate costs required to bring Ramon home.

With his passing, Ramon’s family is facing unexpected and significant expenses. These include transporting his body to South Carolina, shipping his personal belongings, handling his vehicle, and managing the related logistical and administrative costs. These are burdens no family should have to face alone, especially while grieving.

This fundraiser represents communities coming together across distance. It is rooted in aloha and collective care, and it is equally guided by the love and support of Ramon’s South Carolina community. The goal is simple, to ease the financial burden on his family so they can focus on honoring Ramon’s life and bringing him home.
