My husband Ramiro was detained at the beginning of December, early in the morning as he was headed out to support our family. He is a hard working, loving father and husband and has never had any run ins with the law, he was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. He has been in detention now for over a month and missed the birth of our baby girl the day after Christmas. Because he has no criminal record, he has a chance at being released but we need to gather funds to be able to pay his bail if it is granted. We’re asking for the support of our community through this fundraiser to help bring Ramiro home to meet his baby girl and be reunited with his family that needs him so much.
My husband is a kind, responsible, hardworking man who came here to build a better life for our family. Ramiro is very dedicated to our family life, he is involved in our church, and spends time taking care of our community garden plot that we rent nearby. We now have three beautiful children, ages 6, 3 and newborn. The separation of our family has been devastating for me and our older children, who constantly ask when papa is coming home. Ramiro’s detention left me alone with the children, suddenly without income and support to cover rent and household expenses, and in my very last stage of pregnancy. The emotional toll on the children and me has been unbearable and my health has suffered. I developed gestational diabetes, which was complicated by the stress of our family emergency. Fortunately, our baby girl was born healthy and strong. We desperately need Ramiro home to support us and make our family whole again.
I am deeply grateful for any support you can provide. Any funds raised will be used directly for the cost of bail (if granted) and basic household expenses. Please help us through this incredibly difficult time.
