Hi! My name is Heather Terzich and I’m an aspiring filmmaker, and a current student at the New York Film Academy. This summer, I will be shooting my BFA thesis short film. My film is called A Date To Die For, and is a Tim Burton style horror rom-medy.
Logline:
As Virginia, a 22 year old woman, prepares for yet another 1st date, she discovers she must confront a difficult but relatable truth before she can leave for the date.
Synopsis:
Virginia goes through the motions of getting ready for a date, shaving, putting on makeup, getting dressed, etc. But everything she touches becomes disastrous, leaving her with a choice to accept herself and not care what other people think or give up on dating.
Sometimes you have to literally fall a part to get better. ;)
This is a touching story of self acceptance and learning to be okay with yourself despite imperfections, such as a massive leg shaving incident. Self acceptance is a really messy process and I love being able to show it so literally through one of my favorite niche genres, Horror RomCom.
Self acceptance is really hard and something I’ve personally struggled with for at least a decade, and no, sorry teenagers it doesn’t magically change when you graduate. And it sucks because it kinda feels like the world got meaner and forgot how to have fun and not be so serious, so I created this for all the people struggling to look in the mirror and smile. So here’s to the weird kids - you’re actually really cool!
❤️
For anyone not involved in the filmmaking process it takes a village to pull off a quality film, it also takes a village to help fund a short film. If you are in a position to and want to be apart of this passion project, your support is deeply appreciated.
Donations no matter how small are cherished, as it may only be $10 to you but for the film it is a single rose, a critical prop.
Thank you for being a part of my village! :)
***All donors will be given a credit at the end of the movie credits.***
