[who I am]

my name is Chidozie Ekwensi and I am a queer first generation Nigerian American artist based in Brooklyn, New York

Over the years i’ve explored, photography, illustration, filmmaking, and other creative pursuits as a way of expanding my own understanding and sharing myself with the world.

[what I’m doing]

now, after many years of self instruction & experimentation, I’ve decided to take the bold step in producing my own Web Series.

[quarter life] tells about 25 year old, recently out of the closet and unemployed Tobi as he learns to navigate life & love in an apathetic New York City.

[why I’m doing it]

as a queer black artist myself, I’ve found that stories that reflect our realities, rather than ones that use us as placeholders, are the ones that truly empower us to be our best selves.

my journey to accepting and championing all aspects of my identity has been long and is still ongoing. but how useful is my journey if I can’t help others along the way?

[how you can help]

to give the story the treatment I know it deserves requires a lot of overhead. crafting lighting, camera and audio set ups, scouting locations and talent and making sure everyone involved has food to eat is not cheap. your assistance will help cover the cost of production so that I can put out a product that is worthy of the story it seeks to tell.
