Hi, my name is Wendy and I’m fundraising to help bring the Pink Patsy animation to life.

Pink Patsy Adventures is a colourful new 2D animated cartoon currently in development, inspired by a series of books created by my mum and me. The stories follow Pink Patsy, a cheerful and creative character who explores a magical English countryside filled with marvellous oak trees, talking daisies and joyful adventures that children and adults can enjoy together.

At its heart, Pink Patsy gently explores the experience of dyslexia, helping people understand that learning differently can also be a strength. As the writer of the stories, I am dyslexic myself and have brought my own experiences into the character and the world of Pink Patsy.

This project is also a very special collaboration with my mum, Margaret Townsend, who is now 86. Margaret has spent the past year painting the colourful world of Pink Patsy and helping bring the characters to life. Together, we have already created ten books, lovingly written and illustrated as a mother-and-daughter team.

The animation is currently being developed with the talented team at King Bee Animation at Elstree Studios, and we are now over halfway through production.

Up until now, the project has been moving forward through our own family funding, including support from my mum’s pension. We truly believe in Pink Patsy's message and the positive difference it could make for children and adults with dyslexia.

We are now raising funds to help complete the animation, so Pink Patsy’s colourful world can be shared with children, families and schools everywhere.

Every contribution, big or small, helps us move one step closer to finishing the animation and bringing Pink Patsy to life.
