Help Bring Piggy aka Papa P Home– Our Dad’s Road to Recovery

Hey everyone,

If you know our dad, David ‘Piggy’ Porter, you know he’s the guy who always shows up for others. Whether it’s organizing fundraisers, cracking a joke to lift someone’s spirits, or just being there when you need him—he has spent his life helping people. Now, he needs our help.

In November 2024, our dad suffered a subarachnoid brain stem hemorrhage—something most people don’t survive. But if you know Piggy, also known as Papa P, you know he’s stubborn in the best way possible. He’s been fighting every day, defying the odds, and proving just how strong he really is.

One of the biggest things keeping him going is the love and support from those who have visited him. His doctors believe the best way forward is to keep him in Barbados and, as soon as possible, bring him home—where he can be with family and get the care he needs.

How You Can Help

The reality is, recovery is expensive. Between 24/7 nursing care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and home rehab setup, the cost is around BB$50,000 per month. It’s way beyond what we can manage alone, and we need to raise BB$600,000 to cover the first year of his care. A small group of family and friends have already pledged BB$100,000, but we have a long way to go.
