On February 11th, our lives were turned upside down when my father was suddenly taken into custody by ICE. My dad, Paul Gallagher, has been a legal green card holder in the United States for nearly 40 years. He came here when he was just 20 years old and has built his entire life in this country. Now, after decades of living here legally, he is facing deportation. He is currently being held in a detention facility known as “Alligator Alcatraz,” where the conditions are heartbreaking and inhumane. We worry about his safety, his health, and his well-being every single day he remains there. This sudden separation has left our family in shock. My sister and I are doing everything we can to support him and keep our family together during this incredibly painful and uncertain time. The legal fees are overwhelming, and time is critical. We urgently need help raising funds for an experienced immigration attorney to fight his deportation and give him the strongest possible chance to remain in the country he has called home for nearly four decades.
