This is a powerful modern retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story — one that explores displacement, identity, and belonging.

Shot with a mixture of hidden cameras and cinematic visuals inspired by Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin, it plunges the audience into her world.

The closing image — a beach strewn with bodies — is a stark reminder of real refugee tragedies.

And recently, this work was honoured with the Pro Moviemaker Filmmaker of the Year Award for Cinematography — proving that even a tiny budget can make a big impact.
