Our 18-year-old son was a bright, independent young man who had just graduated high school a year ago. He moved into his own apartment last August, working hard to support himself and build his future. He was the oldest of five siblings, and his brothers and sisters absolutely idolized him. His kindness, humor, and caring spirit touched everyone who knew him, and he was truly a light in our lives.
Tragically, we lost him to suicide. The pain of his absence is something our family is struggling to comprehend. In the midst of our grief, we are now faced with the difficult task of making arrangements for his cremation in California and bringing his remains home. We are also planning a memorial service to honor his memory, covering lost wages while my wife is off work, and cleaning out his apartment. These unexpected expenses have added to the emotional burden we are already carrying.
Our son was so blessed to have so many people who loved and cared about him. We are forever grateful for the time we had with him and for everyone else who loved him so much. Any support you can offer during this difficult time means the world to us, and will help us honor his memory and bring him home.
