Hi, I’m Stephanie and I’m trying to raise funds to bring my Mom home after a very scary month.
On Thursday, July 1st my Mom went to the doctor before she went on vacation to check on a slight cough. They told her it was just an upper respiratory infection and no need to covid test. They gave her meds and said she was clear to travel. My Mom and Dad left that night to go visit family in California. By Sunday the 4th Mom was doing much worse, and Dad took her to the ER in Flagstaff, Arizona. They did a Covid test that came back positive. The doctors at that hospital released her, and told her to just quarantine in a hotel in California. They made it to California, then Mom was admitted to the hospital on July 4 for Covid-19 and pneumonia. It was a scary few days for all of us, but she made a fast turn around! By July 16 she was off of forced air, and looking at release dates. On July 18 we were all so excited and thankful because she had been released from the hospital after 14 scary days!!! However, by the next morning she had to be taken to back the hospital by ambulance. She was cramping and having breathing issues, and had collapsed on the way to the car. After being admitted again, she learned that the blood thinners the hospital put her on caused hematoma on her abdomen. It has been a long and scary month, and we are all desperate to have our Mom home, but in her current condition, she is unable to make the drive home. Mom is still in lots of pain and swollen in her abdomen, and is still on oxygen, so the doctors have recommended the she fly home rather than drive. We are trying to raise money to fly her and a family friend home as our Dad has to drive the car home from California to Texas. Mom desperately wants to be home, and we all want to finally be able to see her again. We are hoping to have her home by next week. Money from this fundraiser will go toward her flight home, and anything we make over our goal is going toward hospital bills and other expenses from the surprise hotel stays due to how rapidly her healthy began to go from bad to worse and for the extended time they had to stay away from home that was not budgeted for. Thank you all for all your prayers, positive energy, and support. Knowing we had all of you behind us has been a huge comfort.
