Hi everyone!
This is one of the hardest things I've had to write but our family is in a desperate situation and we need help. Yesterday morning my father in law, Reynaldo, was taken by immigration while taking his grandson to the bus stop. They chased him down and threw him off his bike while he was doing nothing wrong at all! Our hearts are completely broken and overwhelmed with fear for his future.
Rey has been in this country for 40+ years, Building a life, working hard everyday, raising a family with no help, and staying out of trouble. He is a father, a grandfather, and someone deeply loved by those around him.
Right now he is extremely vulnerable. Rey is currently battling Cancer, living with Diabetes, and struggles mentally to take care of himself. He depends on his family for daily support, guidance, and basic needs. He has not completed his treatment for his Cancer and desperately needs it. We fear that if he is sent back to Mexico he'll have no proper medical care and no support. Rey's wife of 40+ years, his children, and grandchildren all reside here in Fort Myers, FL.
We are doing everything we can to fight for him and make sure he is safe, cared for, and not alone during this time. We have found an immigration lawyer who is willing to take his case but the total cost is $14,000, with $7,000 needed upfront just to begin the process.
We are asking from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can give. Whether it's a donation, a share, or a prayer. Every single contribution brings us one step closer to keeping Rey safe and with his family, where he belongs.
If you are not able to donate, please don't feel bad. A simple share means everything to us and can help Rey. Thank you for taking the time to read his story and please keep our family in your prayers.
