On June 3rd at 7:30am, my father was detained by ICE while on his way to his second job as a landscaper. Just three days earlier, I had returned home from Military Technical School hoping to celebrate being together once again. After months of being away. Instead, our family was torn apart. My mother, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 20 years, has never been apart from him before. Their anniversary passed with heartbreak instead of joy, and she is struggling deeply without him by her side.

My father is the heart of our family and our main provider. He works multiple jobs, including at a popular downtown restaurant where regulars always ask for him, and with and Jedy Lawn Care LLC., where both he and my mother worked to create and are dedicated employees. He founded his own company which only gives back to the community. His absence has left his company one boss down and his family facing uncertainty. His gentle, loving presence nourishes us all, and his community and church miss him dearly.
