My name is William, and I am reaching out for help for myself and my daughter. We have faced a heartbreaking situation: after years of caring for my autistic daughter, we lost our income and are now living only on Social Security. As many of you know, Social Security is not enough to cover all our bills, especially with the added challenges we are facing.
Recently, we lost guardianship of our daughter, and she is currently living in a nursing home in Waterloo. This has been incredibly difficult for us, as the nursing home is not a good place for her. She has experienced many hardships there, and we worry every day about her well-being and happiness. When we visit her in Waterloo, she often asks if she can come home that day, and it tears us up to have to tell her she cannot. It makes it even harder to leave her there, knowing how much she wants to be home.
We want nothing more than to bring her back home, where she can be safe, loved, and surrounded by the people who care for her most. The funds raised through this campaign will help us pay our bills and, most importantly, hire an attorney to fight for guardianship and bring our daughter home. Legal fees and daily expenses have become overwhelming, and we are desperate for support to reunite our family.
We know many of you have spent time with us and our daughter—whether at Walmart, Dollar Stores, church, or other community events. She has developed friendships with so many of you, and your kindness has been an important part of her growing up. We are asking for your help to get her back home, where she belongs. Your support would mean the world to us and to her. Thank you for being a part of our lives and for considering a donation to help us through this difficult time.
