Ten years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet my dad and build a relationship with him, even though he lived far away in Alaska. Most of our connection happened through FaceTime and phone calls, but those moments meant the world to me. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer and faced many heart surgeries, yet he remained the adventurous, free-spirited person he always was. He loved to hunt and fish, and he found joy in the simple things, even when life was difficult.
When my dad passed away, I wasn’t able to travel to Alaska to say my goodbyes. My sister, my brother, and I are now trying to bring our dad home to Kansas so we can honor his memory together. Unfortunately, my dad didn’t have much and didn’t have life insurance, which has made this process even harder for our family.
We are asking for help to cover the costs of cremation and flying our dad home from Alaska. Any support, big or small, will make a difference and help us give our dad the farewell he deserves. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our dad throughout his life and to anyone who can help us now. Thank you for being part of our journey.
