With heavy hearts, we share the tragic passing of Hope Nat-Dia Antonio, a beautiful 15-year-old whose life was filled with love, laughter, and promise. Born in Hilo, Hope was part of a family originally from Chuuk, and together they have been living in Hawai‘i, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness, gentle spirit, and bright smile. Her sudden loss has left her family devastated.

In the midst of their grief, the Antonio family is facing a tremendous financial challenge: transporting their daughter from Hawai‘i back home to Chuuk so she can be laid to rest among her ancestors, surrounded by the love and traditions of her home island. Repatriating a loved one is emotionally difficult and financially overwhelming. Costs include transportation, preparation, funeral arrangements, and burial expenses once she arrives in Chuuk. The family wishes only to honor her in the most meaningful way possible and to give her the dignity of being buried in the place she came from—a place she will always belong.
