Help Bring Our Beloved Friend, Gretchen Ruiz, Home

Many of you know that my assistant of 13 years was much more than a colleague—Gretchen was family to me. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she recently received the incredible news that she was in remission. To celebrate this milestone, she traveled to Mexico with her family for a well-deserved vacation.

Tragically, in the early hours of Sunday morning, she suffered what appears to have been a severe asthma attack that led to cardiac arrest. She passed away unexpectedly at just 3:30 a.m.

Her family is now faced with the heartbreaking task of bringing her body home to the U.S. for burial. The cost is overwhelming, and we are setting up this GoFundMe to help support them in their time of unimaginable grief.

Anything you can give—whether it’s a donation, a share, or a message of support—means the world. All funds will go directly to her family to help cover transportation, funeral arrangements, and related expenses.

I want to thank everyone for the love and patience during this time. I’m still in shock, struggling to process this loss. Your understanding and kindness are deeply appreciated.
