Aloha, friends and family.
Early this morning, I was awakened by the sounds of our beloved Bulldog, Opal, coughing and gagging. As we monitored her at home throughout the day, we noticed her breathing became labored, and she was starting to catch a fever. We could tell she was not doing well. Upon arrival at the vet, they had to sedate her because she was in respiratory distress. X-rays of her chest revealed she had pneumonia in her left lung, pneumonia developing in her right lung, and some bacteria in her bronchial. When removing her from the kennel, her trachea collapsed, and she was rushed to the emergency operator and intubated. It was then they discovered that she could no longer breathe on her own because her saccules were inflamed and protruding out in addition to her long, and shallow soft pallet.
This means that on top of fighting pneumonia, she also needs emergency Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Surgery. Needless to say, If we are lucky enough to bring her home from all of this, she has a long road to recovery ahead.
For those of you who have pets or are animal lovers. If love could keep them alive, they would live forever. Unfortunately, this life and all the amazing work the veterinarians are doing comes with a hefty price tag. Our fundraising goal is for the surgery portion of her treatment. We've already paid for her pneumonia treatment, hospitalization, and deposit for surgery. Our estimate and cost breakdown are listed below.
We are a single-income family, with my husband being the sole breadwinner, myself a full-time student, and a young child to care for. So, if you have it in your heart and the means to, please help our family bring our BEST GIRL home. Our hearts are absolutely shattered without her.
Mahalo for any and all support.
Sincerely,
The Muromoto Ohana
