The second issue of Not-Ed Magazine is READY for readers nationwide! But we need help getting to the printers, once more...

Our initial launch was incredible, and many independent bookstores were receptive to us. Now, you can find the Summer issue of Not-Ed Magazine at Super Memory in St Pete, Daddy Kool in St Pete, Human Relations in Bushwick, and CASA Magazines in NYC. This was all thanks to the generous donors who supported the last issue's GoFundMe. We were able to pay the authors, printer and editors in one fundraiser!

The time has come again to ask for your support. This time, in the spirit of community, we've opened for poetry submissions and short-form prose. Supporting independent publishing goes beyond the page, and has reached readers screens too... Check out the last issue for FREE on the Internet Archive , or continue to support print by finding us at one of our aforementioned retailers.

Our goal for this issue is the same as before - $1.8k supports our independent writers, editors (including our brand-new poetry editor!) and print efforts.

I'm Ms. Lynch, the analog-obsessed fool who believes in print and publication in 2026. I started dreaming about Not-Ed Magazine when I was first in community college and was introduced to independent zine making and movie critique. I'd have long drawn-out conversations with my dad about how critics and columnists aren't really reliable or fashionable anymore, and if they are around, they don't really represent us. Sure, there's the New York Times, but no one on there is watching grindhouse movies, supporting local record shops or haunting their local indie theaters like we are. So Not-Ed was born. I hope you all believe in it as much as I do. It'd be pretty terrific to offer something lasting and tangible to one another in a day-and-age where that is largely lost.

Our ethos: In the age of microtrends, hyperconsumption, disingenuousness and overproduction- audiences cannot help themselves but observe. After all, who best can explain phenomena like ‘niche-micro internet celebrities,’ ‘brainrot,’ or ‘Jacob Elordi bathwater’ than our generation of critics and fans? This new, semi-academic magazine will cover a plethora of topics; from visual to performing arts, music, movies, and other cutting-edge creative efforts. We encourage the production and presentation of research new and old, and artwork of all kinds. We welcome all topics of interest and relevance- let your heart be your guide, and the audience will follow.

Disclaimer: We strictly prohibit any and all use of generative AI or machine learning technology produced “works.” We seek to encourage and reward individuality, authenticity and effort.
