Hello! My name is Hyo Amano, and I am a Junior at Depaul University studying Film and Television with a directing concentration. Our talented crew and I are developing a short film called Nicole Templeton and The Looming Dread which we are planning on producing on early November 2025.

Nicole Templeton and the Looming dread follows an art school dropout turned thrift store clerk, as she confronts the changes in her relationship with her best friend, life, and eventually her own paralysis and deepest insecurities.

This film sheds light to a life of a creative in this chaotic modern era, where little hope seems to exist for artists with a dark comedy / drama narrative and stylized production design heavily inspired by 90’s American indie films and the indie music scene.

Creating a student film is an extremely expensive endeavor, which makes this crowdfunding an integral part of this production that determines the film’s production process.

Funding for this project goes to feeding the cast and crew, transportation of gear,  renting out spaces to film our project, and other expenses such as production design fees.

Anyone who donates more than $25 will get a special thanks in our end credits, but any amount of donation will help us push this project into fruition.
