Hello, my name is Julia Albert, and I am a Corporate Communication and Film and Video Arts double major at Lycoming College. Many of you may know me for my past creative endeavors, where I initially studied to be a classical ballet dancer. However, my journey took a significant turn when the pandemic affected my first year of college, forcing me to reevaluate my path. This led me to pursue filmmaking—a medium through which I found a new voice and creative outlet.
As I near my final semester of college, I am working on my senior film project, which is a graduation requirement for my degree. The film I am creating explores the theme of self-discovery versus nostalgia, capturing the tension between personal growth and the pull of the past. It’s a deeply personal project, and I’m eager to bring this story to life.
As a broke college student, I’m currently working with little to no budget. While I’m lucky to have access to equipment through my school, there are still many essential expenses that I need to cover to complete my film. The funds I’m raising will go toward critical costs such as location rentals, actor and crew compensation, storage for film footage, festival submission fees, and production materials. These elements are vital to making this film a reality, and without your support, it will be difficult to execute the project to its full potential.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. Thank you for helping me bring my vision to life and for supporting my journey as a filmmaker and artist.
