My son has lived in Virginia for over 10 years, but everything changed in 2023 when he suffered an anoxic brain injury. Since then, he has been totally incapacitated and placed in a nursing home. Unfortunately, his experience there has been heartbreaking. Because he cannot move on his own, he has developed bed sores, and the staff have not been attentive to his needs. He has been sent to the hospital multiple times, where he was diagnosed with malnutrition, dehydration, and chronic anemia. He now has a feeding tube, and I am devastated by the lack of proper care he has received.

As his mother, it is unbearable to be so far away while he suffers. My greatest wish is to bring him to California, where I can be by his side and ensure he receives the care and attention he deserves. The cost of medical transportation is overwhelming, and any additional funds will go toward his ongoing care—whether I am able to bring him home or find a local facility where I can closely monitor his well-being.
