As for his medical situation: too much time had passed since his injury for the original surgery plan. The doctors gave him two options: one right away with pins and screws and more incision points, or to wait about 3 months for a custom metal plate that will involve fewer incision points while still restoring symmetry to his face.

He chose the second option. His surgery is scheduled for about 3 months from now, with a follow-up appointment in a month. It’s going to be a long road, and he needs all the support from family and friends he can get. So please if you think about him reach out and let him know.

Hello, my name is Melanie, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my son.

I’m raising money to post his bail so I am able to be with him before he has to have surgery. This is an incredibly difficult time, and I don’t want him to go through it alone. I am terrified of not being able to be there for him during his surgery, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure he has support by his side.

My son is still very young and, like many kids, he has made mistakes and struggles with personal challenges. But right now, what matters most is making sure he has the care and love he needs, and that he isn’t facing surgery by himself.
