My name is Wichjial, I have been a member of the Colac, Victoria community since 2008.
My sister and her family of eight are currently living in a refugee camp in Uganda after fleeing the ongoing war in South Sudan. Her husband was killed during the conflict, and they are still being hunted. She and her children remain in danger and have no support or protection in the camp.
As her only sibling, I am deeply concerned for their safety and well-being. I want nothing more than to bring my sister, along with my nieces and nephews, to safety here in Australia, where we can be reunited as a family. However, the costs associated with their visa application, is extremely high and difficult to afford on my own.
I am incredibly grateful for the generosity and support our community has shown so far, especially the support from Colac Rural Australians for Refugees. Thanks to your kindness, we have now reached the visa application lodgement stage, which is a major step forward. There are still significant costs ahead, and we need your support now more than ever to help complete this journey.
Your donations will go directly towards the visa application fees. Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings my sister and her children one step closer to safety and a new life in Australia.
Thank you for your support.
