Hello Everyone. My name is Karen and I am creating this GoFundMe for my sister, Phuong.

On October 2nd, 2025, my sister was unexpectedly detained by ICE during what was supposed to be a routine immigration check-in. She is currently housed at Otay Mesa Detention Center here in San Diego.

She has held a green card and has always complied fully with every immigration requirement. Her sudden detention has left our family shocked, heartbroken, and urgently trying to bring her back home. We are all on edge and worrying about what can be the possible outcome of her detainment.

She has lived in the United States for almost her entire life. This country is her home. She went to school here and built a life here. She is the oldest sister of 8 siblings. She is my best friend. She’s selfless, generous, hardworking, and loyal. Even without much herself, she always put the people that she loves first. Now it’s time for our family to fight for her, especially when she is unable to fight for herself. I am in shambles thinking about losing her.

She showed up to her regular check-in as she always has and was taken without warning.

Now, we are facing an overwhelming legal battle. We are raising funds to cover attorney fees and potential bond costs.

Every dollar goes directly toward fighting for her freedom and supporting her through this traumatic time.
