My mom came to Canada to finally meet her first granddaughter and spend precious time with our family. What was supposed to be a joyful visit quickly turned into one of the most difficult moments of our lives.

On February 19, she suddenly suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm, which caused severe bleeding in her brain. She had to be rushed to the hospital immediately and underwent emergency brain surgery to save her life. It all happened so suddenly and without warning.

Since that day, she has remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under constant medical care. Our family has been by her side every day, hoping and praying for her recovery while trying to process everything that has happened.

When she arrived in Canada, she did have travel insurance. Unfortunately, because of the severity of the hemorrhage, the emergency surgeries, and the extended ICU care, the insurance coverage has already been exhausted. As a visitor, she is not covered by the Canada Health Act public healthcare system, and the medical expenses have quickly grown far beyond what our family can manage on our own.

Our greatest hope is that when she becomes stable enough to travel, we will be able to bring her safely back home to the Philippines, where she can continue her recovery surrounded by her loved ones.

We are humbly asking for any support, no matter how small. This fundraiser is to help our family with the overwhelming medical expenses and the future cost of safely bringing her home when the time comes. Any support, no matter how small, would mean so much to us during this incredibly difficult time.
