Hi, my name is Lauren and I’m raising funds for my Dad, Colin Riley
In May 2025, our world changed when Dad Colin Riley suffered a devastating out of the blue stroke. He went from being totally normal to bed bound overnight.
Since then, he’s spent the last five months in and out of different hospitals and stroke rehabilitation units across the region, working tirelessly to regain his strength and independence. His determination has been incredible, but the journey ahead is still a long one.
My dad is an incredibly well known and appreciated member of the Yarm community.
As a family, our biggest wish is to have Dad home where he belongs.
To make that possible, we need to make some major adaptations to the house to ensure it’s safe and accessible for him. Things like ramps, widened doorways, and a bathroom he can use safely. We’re also hoping to raise funds to buy him an electric wheelchair, which will give him the freedom to move around independently and maintain his dignity.
Every penny truly makes a difference.
No matter how big or small your contribution, it will go directly towards creating a safe and comfortable environment for Dad to continue his recovery at home. He has a few months left in Newcastle Walkergate Rehab and we are starting to think about the future.
We can’t thank you enough for your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time and all the kind words don’t go unnoticed.
Together, we can help bring Dad home.
