My dad was a hardworking man who always put his family first. Even when he was feeling sick, he never thought about himself—he just wanted to provide a better life for us. He was a loving person who cared deeply for his friends both in the Philippines and here in the USA, and he was especially devoted to my mom and his two sons back home. No matter how tired he was from work, he would still come home and cook meals for us, making sure we were always cared for. Since we arrived in the USA, he never let go of his cellphone, always calling and talking to my mom to stay connected. He was a kind father, friend, husband, son, and brother, and I truly admired him for everything he did for our family and community.

But in an instant, everything changed. We were all involved in an accident. While the rest of us only suffered bruises, my dad didn’t survive. Losing him so suddenly has left a huge hole in our lives, and we are now facing the difficult task of saying goodbye. We want to honor his memory by bringing him home to the Philippines, so my mom and brothers can see him one last time and say their goodbyes. The funds raised will help us cover the funeral home costs and the expenses of shipping his body back to our family.
